When MyGait first started they placed their computers into senior communities for testing to make sure that the very people they were designing the computer for could actually use it. After several years of success, they turned to firstStreet to help them sell it to individuals. It was called the GO computer through them. Who started the Company?

Jeff Hill is the founder/CEO and driving force behind MyGait. After witnessing the frustration his grandmother constantly went through he decided to create a computer for Seniors that simply worked and support it with a friendly knowledgeable staff to answer any and all questions.

How long does it take for me to get a MyGait Computer?

Shipping time depends on your location. However the typical delivery timeframe is 5-7 business days. Outside of the continental US will take additional time.

How does MyGait Ship the computer?

MyGait ships all computers via UPS Ground.

The operating system on MyGait Computers is Windows 8.

A webcam is a camera that can be connected to a computer to take pictures or a video. The MyGait computer comes with a webcam built right into the monitor for ease of use!

Can the MyGait computer be moved from place to place?

Yes the computer can be moved, but an active high speed internet connection is required at all times for the computer. If you need even more mobility, please inquire about our laptop version.

Does the computer have a CD/DVD drive?

No. the MyGait does not have a built in CD/DVD drive. If you need a CD/DVD drive to watch movies or videos, MyGait can provide one a very nominal cost.

How many USB ports and what can you do with them?

3 USB ports. One is used for the keyboard and one is used for the mouse. Printers and digital cameras are other things that can be plugged into the additional port.

What are the main features of the PC?

The MyGait software contains several features that provide older adults with a failure-free computing experience. These features include special functions on the computer that were developed to make computing easier. Such as a ZOOM button that allows for an increase up to 200% magnification of every page, backlight green feature which allows you to never lose your cursor, a simple word document creator, safe & fun games, one-click mouse feature, and the HELP button on every screen.

Can I listen to music on my MyGait Computer?

Yes. There are several online streaming websites such as Pandora, Grooveshark, and others that allow you to listen to your favorite kind of music FREE. Another great online music source is AARP radio which provides you with music from multiple generations.

Does Microsoft Office come loaded on the computer?

No. Microsoft Office has WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT on www.live.com and this will allow you to work, create, and save products from Microsoft Office.

Does the computer have a word processor?

Yes. MyGait built a simple, yet fully functioning word processor that will allow you to create documents, lists, letters, and much more.

If I have an existing email address, can I still use it with my new computer?

Yes. You will be able to access all of the web-based email providers such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. Of course, once our customers see and use the MyGait email system they prefer it because of its simplicity.

Can I play games on my computer?

Yes. Web-based games are plentiful online and if you need help finding what you want the MyGait team will help you.

Can you download programs on the MyGait Computer?

No. But the friendly MyGait Staff will help you find a web based alternative for any program that you would like.

Can you do taxes on the MyGait computer?

Yes. There are several web based versions of popular tax software.

Can you store pictures on the computer?

Your pictures are stored from digital cameras using the SD card from the digital camera or a USB cord to your personal profile on the MyGait servers. Also pictures from emails can be saved to your very own photo album. This allows for unlimited storage for all of your photos!

Will my internet air card work?

Yes. We can help connect your PC with the air card or your wireless connection. We do know that USB internet cards can vary in connection speeds and dependability based on the area in which you live.

Do most printers work with this computer?

Yes. To make sure of compatibility please connect the printer through a USB port to the computer and check that the printer is Windows 8 compatible

Does the Magic Jack Work with the MyGait Computer?

Yes. Several of our users enjoy the use of the Magic Jack.

Do scanners work with the MyGait computer?

No. Currently the MyGait does not support scanning to the computer

Does the $19.95 include my internet?

No. The $19.95 is for your Worry Free Monthly Service. You will have to have DSL, Cable, or high speed internet for the MyGait Computer. Dial-up connections will not work. Contact your local Internet Service Providers for availability in your area.

If I submit a question via email, how fast can I expect a reply?

We try to answer all emails as fast as we receive them. We guarantee that you will receive a reply to your email question within 24 hours.

Is there anything out there like this?

No. There are software programs out there, but nothing that provides the support and service for both the software and hardware

Is there a laptop?

Currently the MyGait Senior Computer is only available in the desktop setup.
